My First Week At Eco Tan…

 

Walking into my first day at Eco Tan’s head office I wasn’t really sure of what to expect. Starting a new job is always slightly terrifying, but what made it even more terrifying was the incredible reputation Eco Tan already had. My older sister had raved about how amazing their Face Tan Water was. My friend gushed about their Cacao Tanning Mousse. My mother sung praises about their Glory Oil. But what would the company be like? What would the people be like? What would the culture be like? Would I fit in? Would I enjoy it?

My first day was an absolute whirlwind. There was so much to learn. So much see. So much to do. What immediately struck me was the friendly demeanour and incredible work ethic of everyone. As Founder and CEO, Sonya really has a way of inspiring and pushing people to achieve their full potential. Her fire was something that left me wanting to work harder and achieve more.

My relationship with the beauty industry had always been a tortured one. While I had a deep love of everything skincare and make up related, so many products were tested on animals or contained nasty chemicals. With such a lack of transparency within the industry, it was hard to tell who’s claims of ‘vegan’ and ‘cruelty free’ were actually true.

Slowly crawling towards thirty, my interest in skincare and anti-aging had started to grow considerably. I’d recently had a bit of a struggle with adult acne and I was starting to develop some fine lines around my eyes and forehead. As such, my skincare regime had gone through a very dramatic, chemical overhaul in the last few years.

After beginning to test a few of the Eco Tan products, I quickly began to understand how they’d developed such a cult following. The incredible and authentic certifications behind the Eco Tan and Eco by Sonya brands were a breath of fresh air. On top of that, the products worked. And they worked REALLY well! It wasn’t long before I realised my skincare regime was about to undergo another dramatic – albeit more organic – overhaul.

By the end of my first week, I felt like I had a better understanding of the company and what it stood for – honesty, integrity, passion and empathy. It permeated through everything they did. This was a place that cared not only about the products it was producing, but it’s employees and also its customers. This was a company I could get behind 100%. This was the start of something wonderful.
