Are pore size products making you poor?

Pores! The ever-growing market of products “claiming” to shrink pores may actually make you poor. I mean seriously, the market is filled with products making claims, not just for pores but everything under the sun! So are pore size products making you poor?

So how do we make sure we know what to look for?

What even are pores? Pores are all over your body, two types; sweat pores and oil pores. They are small openings in the skin under your hair follicle, which your glands beneath can pass through particles. Pore’s can be larger in certain areas of your body, especially the face; forehead and nose are problem areas for most. Like the rest of your body, each part plays an important role, so like them or not, your pores are here to help your body push oil to the surface and protect your skin.

Pore size is largely due to genetics, we all have them and we all need them, but what affects the size of them? And can we shrink them? I mean really shrink them?

Put simple, anything that affects the collagen of your skin is going to weaken the elasticity and support of your glands. Culprits for the appearance of pores or the damaging of skin sebaceous glands (under the pores) are sometimes small easy things we can avoid, however not a lot of people know these easy avoidances. So yes, science says you can’t actually shrink pore size, however you can make then appear smaller

However, (We all love that word after bad news right) there is hope! To really change the ‘appearance’ of pores; the key to keeping them small is keeping them clear. This may be the reason why brands claim that their product shrinks pores, when in actual fact it clears them.

Yet you really need to make sure what you are using is really clearing them with natural ingredients, rather than artificial synthetic ingredients that strip the skin of it’s natural oils.

During the day be sure to wear as light a possible coverage with SPF ingredients that actually work, numero uno – Zinc! So here you go, secrets out; avoid the sun if you can, if you can’t which lets face it, if you live in Australia like me it’s pretty hard to avoid. UV rays, squeezing pimples, dead skin cells and trapped sebum all contribute to damaging and /or widening pores.

SO, be very wary of “false claims” that a product shrinks pores and stick to natural products that:

A: exfoliate, reducing the amount of dead skin cells and

B: really give your skin a good clean naturally without stripping the natural sebum under your pores.

Make sure to cleanse before bed, washing away a days worth of dirt and oil build up in the pores is really important before beauty sleep.

Hi. With the exfoliator, are you supposed to rub it into the skin first up after applying or apply then leave then rub? Thanks.
